Underwater Music Festival At Looe Key Reef
Underwater Music Festival
The Underwater Music Festival is back in session for its 28th year. The zaniness that this event creates is well known and draws several hundred divers and snorkelers to the party. Marine-themed music, some created by local artists, is piped through the water by Keys radio station, US1 Radio 104.1 FM, along with information about reef and ocean preservation.
Date: July 14 , 2012
Times: 10 am to 2 pm
Location: Looe Key Reef, Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, 6 miles south of Big Pine Key, FL
Admission: Free

The underwater music festival is all about divers, snorkelers and wacky underwater musical instruments.
Local Keys artist, August Powers, has sculpted numerous aquatic instruments to go along with the music, featuring this year’s addition of a Wahoo Kazoo! Past events have featured the Snorkeling Elvises, a longhaired mermaid playing the harp, and an underwater band.
