WHAT: Come and enjoy a HSW (Health, Safety, Welfare) “It’s Not your Mother’s Kitchen Anymore” (IDCEC Course number 100975)  beginning promptly at 5:30 then followed at 6:30 where you will enjoy Great Food, Stellar World-Class  Wines, Ice-cold Beers  with other beverages, will be served as you enjoy this unique interactive Chef Competition and dinner party! You will enjoy an interactive Celebrated Chef Competition and dinner party complete with audience participation, highlighting gorgeous plated locally grown heirloom tomato salads!  Roll up your sleeves and “Dig In” to the bounty of local heirloom tomatoes and other seasonal tastes. You will learn excellent cooking & entertaining tips from the Chefs that will add to your Summer entertaining repertoire. The Chefs will teach tomato plating tips for our “Battle of Plates” where audience participants will step up to the “plating tables” to create their designs and from a gorgeous array of herbs, garnish, tomatoes, vinaigrettes & drizzles. Our judging panel will vote for Best in Show in both “Individual Plated Salad” & Buffet “Best Platter Salad.”

DINNER WILL BE: Buffet o Creative Tomato Salads, Various Grilled & Roasted Meats, Breads, Side Dishes, and Tomato Appetizers!

CEU COURSE DESCRIPTION – 5:30p.m. – 6:30 p.m.  (HSW Designation)This presentation looks back in history (from mid-century) at the design of residential kitchens and today’s trends in design and appliance technologies. It examines how designers are addressing the special needs of mature clients and how with proper planning Baby Boomers can age in place in functional modern spaces. Included are suggestions for appliances, kitchen configurations, work surfaces and storage, and other features that compensate for the normal processes of aging.
