It’s not often that a “Store Closing” is a welcome sign. But for the residents of east Pompano, the fact that the Publix store at 2511 East Atlantic Boulevard is closing on April 30 is very encouraging.
Most likely, no store closing has ever been as greatly anticipated as this. An afternoon spent digging through the archives of the City website finds many references to this remodel, some going back several years.
Understandably, store employees are fairly mum about specific plans, although it’s quite likely that if you visit the City’s CRA booth at either the GreenMarket Pompano Beach or East Village Uncorked events, you’ll be able to get lots more info.
And, in case you are concerned about the employees of the current store, unconfirmed word is that they will all be relocated to other Publix stores during the construction.
